Lillian Victoria Miller, my great-great-grandmother, was the third child born to Hannah and Charles Miller of Cherry Grove, Michigan, though her elder siblings had died before she was born. She was known as Lillie.

She married George Arthur MacDonald, son of Lovina (Bergey) and Angus McDonald, and they were blessed with five children:

• Mabelle Ruth, b. May 20, 1893.
• Harry Cupp, my great-grandfather, b. August 29, 1895.
• William Dewey, b. April 1898.
• Ronald F., b. 1901.
• Russell Valentine, b. 1903.
