A few of the stones were somewhat readable.
Catherine F., daughter of Moses and Margaret Bardeen, died Oct
12, 1831, aged 6 years 11 days.
Moses E., son of Moses and Margaret Bardeen, died Feb 17, 1843,
aged 8 years 2 months 8 days.
Margaret (Edson) Bardeen was the daughter of Rufus Edson, and the
sister of my ancestor Eliza (Edson) Arnold. She and her second
husband, Moses, are buried in this cemetery as well, but I could not
find their stones. |
| To the right is the stone of Hezza J. Segar, died
March 30, 1906, age 53 yrs.
Hezza June was the daughter of William Segar and Sally Hayes, who
in turn was the daughter of Hezediah Edson (sister to Eliza) and
Cephas Hayes. |

On the left: William Segar (1812-1889), father of Hezza.
On the right: Eliza, daughter of Calvin and Philany Bardeen.
She died age 10 yrs 6 months, on June 2, 1831. |

On the left: tombstone of Mary, wife of Noble
Sweet, died age 78 on July 29, 1887. Mary was probably born
Mary Ann Edson, another daughter of Rufus and Mary (Cole) Edson.
According to the Edson Family History and Genealogy, Mary
Ann Edson "probably married Noble Sweet." He is also
buried somewhere in the Segar Cemetery.
Also buried somewhere in this cemetery are other children of
Rufus and Mary: Dan and his wife Esther (Carter); Philany and
her husband Calvin Bardeen, as well as other Bardeen, Hayes, Segar
children. |
