Welcome to Library Job Postings on the Internet! This site first came into being on May 1, 1995, and was originally hosted on the web space of the University of Michigan Libraries. As of May 1, 2004, this guide receives over 1600 visits every weekday, and links to over 400 library job sites. Library Job Postings turned nine years old on May 1st, 2004. If this site has helped you in your job search, or helped you find the perfect candidate, why not let me know about it? Please note that this site is not associated with ALA's Career Leads. The costs associated with posting a position in American Libraries or in ALA's Hot Jobs Online are available via the ALA website. I love getting e-mail about this site! But if you write to me, please give your message a meaningful subject line. My mailbox gets tons of spam, and I don't want to delete your message by accident. Feeling nostalgic? Thanks to the Wayback Machine, you can get a glimpse of what Library Job Postings looked like in an earlier incarnation (version 2.0, dated January 24, 1997). Don't use the old site for your search, though, as many of the links have changed. Would you like to read more information about this guide? This page is dedicated to the memory of my uncle, Alan Orman, who died on July 17, 1996, in the crash of TWA 800, and to the memory of my grandmother, Geraldine Gordnier, who passed away on May 6, 2001.
