INSTRUCTION LIBRARIAN/ ARCHIVIST

Works collaboratively with a team of library faculty
to meet the instructional needs of a diverse multicultural/bilingual curriculum
and student population; develop new classes, instructional tools and handouts,
contribute to the library curriculum by exploration and implementation of
innovative teaching modalities and pedagogical approaches to integrating
information literacy into the curriculum; teach in an innovative bilingual
information literacy program. Second primary duty is oversight and management of
the college archives, including planning, development of polices and procedures,
processing collections, cataloging materials and creating guides to the
collection. Serve as a liaison to assigned academic departments with collection
development and web site content responsibilities; provision of reference
service. Available for evening and weekend assignments.

REFERENCE AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY LIBRARIAN (Professorial Rank) Provide leadership in the planning, installation, documentation, training and operational support for computer hardware, software, and networks dedicated to library functions. Assist with the management of interactive technological resources and library computer operations. Collaborate with faculty in the pedagogical use of information technology and the design of information resources to support curricular goals. Work with a team of reference librarians to plan, deliver, and evaluate reference and instruction programs and services to meet the educational needs of a diverse multicultural/bilingual curriculum and student population. ACQUISITIONS/ SERIALS LIBRARIAN

Under the direction of the Head, Technical Services
& Collection Management, manages orders, renewals, binding, statistical
reporting, invoicing, claiming activities, etc. for library monographs and
Serials in all formats using ExLibris Aleph500; supervises clerical staff and
student employees; provides oversight of record loading from vendors; assists in
the management of the unit. Provides management and oversight of order
placement, renewals, binding and claiming activities including loading of
bibliographic and order records supplied by library book vendors and OCLC's
service; Performs copy cataloging of monographs and serials; Manages contact
with vendors in relation to ordering, claiming, report generation and record
supply. Responsible for the analysis and implementation of ordering and
claiming; Trains technical service and collection management staff in the use of
the ExLibris Aleph500 serials and acquisitions module and other electronic
acquisitions tools; Supervises other temporary and hourly staff as necessary.
Some service at the reference desk as needed; serve as a liaison to specific
academic departments with collection development, web site content development,

CODE LIBRARY/TECHNICAL
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS for all three lines: MLS from an ALA accredited institution; ability to work with a diverse student body in a multicultural and multilingual environment; strong written, verbal and organizational skills; Familiarity with MS Office applications essential; Academic library experience preferred, but on the job training is available for those interested in getting experience in an academic library. An additional master's degree or a doctorate is required for appointment as an Assistant/Associate Professor. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are advantageous. Salary and rank commensurate on qualifications, scholarship and work experience. Specific qualifications for each position are available by request.
